In June 2007, Dr. King retired from the Locust
Valley Schools after spending 30 years as a School Psychologist,
Educational Administrator and Field Supervisor, in various clinical and
school settings. His “retirement” is now allowing him to devote more
time to special education advocacy and school consultation. Dr. King is
available to make school visits, attend C.S.E. and 504 Committee
meetings, observe children in their school settings, consult with
parents and school staff and conduct “second opinion” Psychological
Evaluations. His hope is to bridge the gaps which often occur between
parents and schools as well as between private practitioners and school
mental health professionals. Functioning in both worlds for so many
years provides Dr. King with a wealth of clinical experience and
expertise which can both minimize misunderstanding and create
comprehensive intervention programs for children in need.
