In 2007 Dr. King added Parent Coordination and Family Mediation to his practice. As a member of the Parent Coordination Association of New York, Dr. King is able to work with high conflict families with the aim of improving communication skills, cooperative planning, and placing the needs of children above other issues. The mediation approach has been shown to be a viable alternative to the very expensive, litigious and strident processes which often characterize much of the Family Court System. Couples are seen for a finite number of targeted mediation sessions which are coordinated with the Family Court, the participant's attorneys, law guardians, and treating mental health professionals.
